The loss of a loved one can be overwhelming and extremely difficult for people to cope with. Sometimes, will never able to adjust to the norms when they have not talked about what they are going through. A lot of people avoid the issue or block it out. However, it can make it worse. People will go through a stage of sadness to becoming enraged and depressed. A spouse may worry about her future, not knowing how she is going to cope in terms of the support. You need to learn gradually how to get into a new routine so that your mind is not constantly thinking about the ordeal, and you are able to move forward. People who don't deal with this often move into a state of depression, coupled with anxiety. A lot of people will withdraw and become isolated of everyone else because they prefer not to socialize.

Not only does this help the person get out and socialize, but they will also be taking advantage of hearing what others have to say who are suffering in a similar fashion. Other people would have also lost someone special to them and you will relate to this.

It is important that you connect with the therapist form the beginning. It will lead a relationship where you feel safe enough to confide about certain issues that are bothering you. As time goes by, you will learn to accept the loss and work through the stages. It can be difficult at times, but this is part of the process towards recovery.
